Natural History Adventures

To celebrate Dippy the Dinosaur visit to the West Midlands this summer we will be running some  activities and talks for everyone to take part in.

 

Show and Tell:

Dinosaurs in Warwickshire

Market Hall Museum, Warwick

Wednesday 27th June 1pm – 1.30pm

 

Hear about Jurassic Warwickshire and the evidence for dinosaurs in our county, and see some real dinosaur bones and fossils. FREE, no need to book just drop in. Donations welcomed.

 

Behind the Scenes: Store Tour

Warwickshire Museum Stores, Montague Road, Warwick

Monday 30th July 10.30am – 12noon

Go behind the scenes at the museum stores to see Warwickshire’s prehistoric past. Families welcome, suggested for ages 7+. All children must be accompanied an adult. Cost 7.50 per attendee. Book at warwickshire.gov.uk/heritageboxoffice

 

Creepy Crawlies and Bumbling Bees 

Market Hall Museum, Warwick

Thursday 9th August 10am – 3pm

Be inspired by our insect fossils and working bee hive to take part in our creepy-crawly family activities. £2.50 per child, no need to book just drop in.

 

 

Show and Tell: Living Jurassic Fossils in Warwickshire

Market Hall Museum, Warwick

Wednesday 22nd August 1pm – 1.30pm

A talk discovering plants and animals that have hardly changed since the Jurassic period, and which live amongst us today.  FREE, no need to book just drop in. Donations welcomed.

 

Family Fossil Hunt

Cross Hands Quarry

Thursday 30th August 10am – 4pm

A day fossil hunting at Cross Hands Quarry with our Curator of Natural Sciences. You can keep anything you find! Cost £17 per person. Ideal for children aged 7+, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Ticket prices includes coach travel from St John’s House Museum, Warwick.
